Volvo Certified Used Equipment — Your Questions Answered

Volvo Certified Used Equipment

We say it a lot, but purchasing a piece of used equipment can really be a smart investment. That’s especially true when it comes to a Volvo Certified Used machine, where you can get the exceptional Volvo quality, efficiency and performance we’re known for in a machine that’s thoroughly inspected for years of reliability — and you can get it all at a lower price than buying new.

Why not take advantage of the savings you get with used over the cost of a new machine? For some, it’s because they know not all used machines are built and reconditioned equally, making it hard to do true apples-to-apples comparisons. But to help you better understand exactly what we do here at Volvo, I’ve answered some of the most frequently asked questions about our Volvo Certified Used Equipment program. Rest assured, we take the program very seriously to ensure the used machines you purchase are ready to tackle your toughest jobs day after day — and, ultimately, they’re investments you’re proud of.

What is Volvo Certified Used equipment?

All Volvo Certified Used equipment is inspected and classified into two categories:

  • Volvo Certified Used: To reach our highest level of used equipment, machines are rigorously tested and reconditioned using Genuine Volvo-approved parts and components. Because of this thorough 140+ point inspection and reconditioning, the price of Volvo Certified Used machines reflects the true-life value of the machine — the component life, hours, etc. That’s why they’re backed by a 6-month/1200-hour powertrain warranty.
  • Volvo Inspected Used: These machines undergo a 140+ point inspection at a Volvo Certified Used Center. This detailed inspection report is provided with the listing, so buyers know the actual condition of the machine at the time of sale.

I have just purchased a volvo EC340DL excavator. The certified volvo dealer (Ascedum) has been out twice with their computer and has been unable to turn off the Anti-Theft lock out. Does anyone know how to do this? Ascendum is using the Volvo Proprietary software but remains unsuccessful. They have also changed out the 7.4 volt battery relate to the controller / gate used for the web system.
